Colombia's president-elect Abelardo De La Espriella held a call with Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, who expressed support for the new government.
Sa'ar congratulated De La Espriella on his victory and noted that he is a true friend of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. The president-elect replied that Colombia will restore and strengthen its relationship with Israel as never before.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also sent a congratulatory message. He said he looks forward to working with De La Espriella to strengthen the bond between both countries based on shared values.
For its part, the government of El Salvador, led by Nayib Bukele, expressed wishes for success and reaffirmed the will to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation between the nations.
