The Detroit Tigers have traded Korean reliever Go Woo-suk to the Minnesota Twins for cash consideration, reports said on July 6. The 27-year-old is now on the verge of making his major league debut.
MLive Media Group's Evan Woodbery tweeted Sunday U.S. local time that the Twins were acquiring Go in exchange for cash consideration. Per Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Go, who had not been on the Tigers' 40-man roster, has an assignment clause in his contract and must now be added to the Twins' roster.
Go is expected to join the Twins on Tuesday. He posted a 0.66 ERA in eight outings in Double-A and a 2.60 ERA in 19 appearances in Triple-A. Across those levels, Go recorded 54 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings.
The Twins bullpen has the worst ERA in the majors at 5.28. However, Go will not be assured of a long look out of the bullpen.
