The Arizona Diamondbacks rallied from a three-run deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 on Sunday afternoon, completing a three-game sweep at Dodger Stadium.
Ildemaro Vargas delivered the tiebreaking RBI single in the sixth inning. Geraldo Perdomo sparked both the offense and defense with a key walk, run scored on a throwing error, and several standout plays in the field.
The Diamondbacks trailed 3-0 after three innings before closing the gap with back-to-back doubles from Vargas and Nolan Arenado in the fifth. A sacrifice fly by Ryan Waldschmidt brought them within one run.
Arizona improved to 49-47 and now sits 2 1/2 games behind the final National League Wild Card spot. The sweep marks their first three-game series victory over the Dodgers in Los Angeles since September 2017.
