Eddie Vedder shares new song with Chicago students

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has released a new single titled Better Believe. The track was created with students from Columbia College Chicago and benefits the local charity Guitars Over Guns. It debuted live during the opening of the Obama Presidential Center.

Vedder wrote and recorded the song with audio arts students at the college. All royalties from the release will go to Guitars Over Guns, a nonprofit that pairs young people with professional musicians.

The track features a slow build leading to an anthemic chorus performed by the full group of participants. Vedder performed it publicly for the first time on June 18 at the Obama Presidential Center ceremony in Chicago.

Several other artists attended the same event, including Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson. The single marks Vedder's latest project following Pearl Jam's 2024 album Dark Matter.
