Egyptian commercial service and Expolink discuss boosting exports

Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), met with Mohamed Kassem, chairperson of the Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink), and board members to explore ways to strengthen cooperation and enhance Egyptian exports. El-Sherif stated that the coming period will see intensified collaboration with Expolink to implement targeted action plans for key foreign markets. The meeting is part of the ECS's ongoing efforts to coordinate with national export entities.

In a recent meeting, the discussion centered on enhancing cooperation mechanisms to improve Egyptian products' access to global markets and identify promising export opportunities. El-Sherif emphasized that Expolink is a strategic partner in Egypt's export ecosystem, highlighting the need to expand the exporter base and prioritize high value-added sectors and industries.

For his part, Mohamed Kassem underscored the long-standing partnership between Expolink and the ECS in supporting export growth and attracting foreign investment. He noted the ongoing global industrial shift from Asia toward Africa, positioning Egypt—thanks to its strategic geographic location—as a key beneficiary. This trend, he added, is evident in rising investor interest in Egypt and expanding export opportunities.

Kassem also pointed out that Expolink has expanded its scope to include promoting investment in export-oriented projects, which could be coordinated with ECS offices abroad to attract foreign direct investment, particularly in industrial sectors targeting export markets.

During the meeting, Ahmed Taha, Expolink's executive director, reviewed the association's main operational mechanisms for implementing promotional programs, as well as the outcomes of trade missions organized for various international markets in cooperation with ECS offices.

El-Sherif further revealed that the upcoming period will feature regular and intensive virtual meetings with ECS offices abroad to address inquiries from Egyptian companies, introduce foreign markets, clarify product registration requirements, and provide guidance on relevant trade and industrial authorities in target countries.
