The first images of actors portraying The Beatles in four upcoming biopics have been unveiled through postcards hidden at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Students at the institute are hunting for these exclusive postcards featuring Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. The films, directed by Sam Mendes, are set for release starting April 7, 2028.
On January 29, 2026, the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) announced on its official Instagram that it had received exclusive postcards promoting the new Beatles movies. "We’ve been given exclusive postcards promoting the new Beatles movies!" the post read. "We've hidden them around LIPA, and we want students to find them."
By January 30, the hunt expanded, with LIPA hiding an additional 20 postcards in the morning and planning 20 more at lunchtime. Students finding the postcards are encouraged to tag @lipaliverpool and @sonypicturesuk on social media.
LIPA highlighted its deep ties to The Beatles: "It's been such an honour to bring the Beatles back home. Paul, George and John all studied in the buildings that now make up LIPA, while Sir Paul remains our Lead Patron." The institute added, "John, Paul, George and Ringo are a constant source of inspiration to us all. The four films, directed by LIPA Companion Sir Sam Mendes, are released in April 2028 and we can't wait to see them!"
The project consists of four theatrical feature films, each from one band member's point-of-view, intersecting to tell The Beatles' story. "The dating cadence of the films, the details of which will be shared closer to release, will be innovative and groundbreaking," according to the announcement. The cast was confirmed nearly a year prior, and the actors will perform the singing themselves.
