A Florida pastor has been charged with neglecting five foster children while allegedly favoring her own daughter. Gwendolyn Rolle, 59, faces five felony counts of child neglect in St. Lucie County.
Officers responded to an anonymous complaint on June 2 and arrested Rolle at her Fort Pierce home. The arrest warrant details claims that the children, ages 4 to 9, were forced to use a bucket as a toilet and bathe outdoors with a garden hose. Rolle, pastor at New Hope International Church, is accused of denying the children regular meals and access to the working bathroom. Her biological daughter reportedly received better food such as KFC and Popeyes, along with indoor shower privileges. Rolle, who is not a licensed foster parent, bonded out of jail after her arrest and was assigned a public defender. School staff reported the children were bullied due to poor hygiene.
