Local police in Santa Susanna detained former Sant Feliu de Guíxols mayor Pere Albó on Sunday afternoon for allegedly masturbating in front of minors at a hotel pool.
Albó, who served as mayor for the PSC from 2007 to 2011 and as a Junts deputy in the Parlament until 2024, entered the hotel without authorization and masturbated on a lounge chair in front of several people, including minors.
Police arrested him on charges of exhibitionism. Sources said he appeared disoriented and unbalanced. He spent the night in police custody and was released provisionally on Monday as an investigated person by the Arenys de Mar court.
His current party MES expressed consternation and opened an internal inquiry. It provisionally suspended his membership pending the outcome.
