GoPro announces pricing for Mission 1 camera series

GoPro has revealed prices for its new Mission 1 action camera lineup, starting at $600 for the entry-level model. The series features a 1-inch sensor and high-frame-rate video capabilities, with preorders open now and availability from May 28. The top interchangeable-lens model will launch in the third quarter.

GoPro unveiled pricing details for the Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro, and Mission 1 Pro ILS cameras on April 20. The base Mission 1 costs $600 and includes a 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor for improved image quality and low-light performance compared to the Hero 13 series. It supports 8K video at 30 frames per second, 4K at 120fps, 10-bit GP-Log2 color, and 32-bit float audio, while maintaining a waterproof design similar to previous models. The company has dropped the 'Hero' branding for this higher-end lineup. The Mission 1 Pro, priced at $700, targets professional videographers with upgraded specs including 8K at 60fps, 4K at 240fps, and a 960fps burst mode at 1080p. It also offers 4:3 'Open Gate' recordings at 8K/30fps and 4K/120fps for flexible editing. The Mission 1 Pro ILS matches the Pro's $700 price and sensor but features a Micro Four Thirds lens mount; GoPro subscribers receive a $100 discount. Preorders for the Mission 1 and Pro include a free point-and-shoot grip, normally $100. Cameras and accessories launch on May 28, except the Pro ILS in Q3 2026. GoPro also introduced a $160 wireless mic system amid competition from DJI and Insta360.
