Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time in the sole practice session for the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Ferrari driver posted a 1m29.260s lap on soft tyres, 0.213s ahead of Mercedes driver and championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
The session was the only practice run ahead of sprint qualifying on the hot 49C track. Antonelli led much of the running before Hamilton improved late to claim the top spot in front of his home crowd.
Charles Leclerc took third for Ferrari with a 1m29.859s, ahead of George Russell in fourth. Oscar Piastri was fifth for McLaren, followed by Max Verstappen in sixth.
Lando Norris placed seventh, Isack Hadjar eighth for Red Bull, Nico Hulkenberg ninth for Audi and Liam Lawson tenth for Racing Bulls. The times reflected the impact of new power unit regulations on top speeds.
