Hanwha Eagles pull off dramatic comeback in Korean Series Game 3

The Hanwha Eagles staged a six-run comeback in the eighth inning to defeat the LG Twins 7-3, securing their first win in the Korean Series. Trailing 3-1 after closer Kim Seo-hyeon's wild pitch, Sim Woo-jun's go-ahead two-run double proved pivotal. The victory narrows the series deficit to 1-2 after dropping the first two games.

In Game 3 of the Korean Series on October 29 at Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park, the Hanwha Eagles defeated the LG Twins 7-3. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Kim Hyun-soo's fielding error, but the Twins tied it in the third with Shin Min-jae's RBI double and took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on Kim Hyun-soo's solo home run (125 meters, his 99th postseason hit).

The Eagles trailed 3-1 after Kim Seo-hyeon's wild pitch scored a run in the top of the eighth, but exploded for six in the bottom half. Kim Tae-yean's double, Son Ah-seop's single, Moon Hyun-bin's single, Chae Eun-seong's walk, and Hwang Young-mook's walk tied the game. Sim Woo-jun's two-run double made it 5-3, and Choi Jae-hoon's two-run single pushed it to 7-3. Kim Seo-hyeon returned to close the ninth with a game-ending double play, earning his first postseason win.

"I'd been losing confidence for the past several weeks, but my teammates' support motivated me," Kim Seo-hyeon said afterward. The All-Star closer had struggled recently despite a strong regular season. Sim Woo-jun added, "I'm glad we never gave up." He had been a pinch runner early but delivered the key hit after postseason bench time.

Manager Kim Kyung-moon said, "I'm thankful for my players. This win should build their confidence." Twins skipper Youm Kyoung-youb noted, "That's baseball. We'll start fresh tomorrow." Game 4 is Thursday in Daejeon with Ryan Weiss for Hanwha against Yonny Chirinos for the Twins. The Eagles aim to become the third team to overcome a 2-0 deficit for the title.
