The siri marriage controversy between Inara Rusli and Insanul Fahmi, which began in August 2025 without the knowledge of Insanul's legal wife Wardatina Mawa, continues to unfold. Following Inara's recent podcast appearance where she defended the marriage's validity as a widow and blamed Insanul for misleading her, public backlash intensified over her failure to apologize to Wardatina.
The boycott materialized when Inara was slated for the Rumpi talkshow on January 12, 2026. The show's Instagram poster (@rumpi_ttv) drew massive netizen protests tagging KPI, prompting its removal and her cancellation. Religious authorities reinforced the marriage's invalidity. Ustaz Derry Sulaiman stated, "Tak ada pernikahan tanpa wali," applicable even to widows per Indonesia's Kompilasi Hukum Islam, urging family involvement. Ustaz Khalid Basalamah highlighted the wali's protective role. Legally, Inara's lawyer Herlina affirmed it cannot be registered under Article 7 of the Kompilasi Hukum Islam without Insanul divorcing or obtaining polygamy permission.
