Inara Rusli, ex-wife of Virgoun, is facing a public boycott for her perceived lack of remorse over her siri marriage to the already-married Insanul Fahmi. A scheduled TV appearance was canceled amid netizen protests, while religious scholars affirm the marriage's invalidity under religious and legal standards.
The siri marriage controversy between Inara Rusli and Insanul Fahmi, which began in August 2025 without the knowledge of Insanul's legal wife Wardatina Mawa, continues to unfold. Wardatina reported the couple to Polda Metro Jaya for alleged adultery. Following Inara's recent podcast appearance where she defended the marriage's validity as a widow and blamed Insanul for misleading her, public backlash intensified over her failure to apologize to Wardatina.
The boycott materialized when Inara was slated for the Rumpi talkshow on January 12, 2026. The show's Instagram poster (@rumpi_ttv) drew massive netizen protests tagging KPI, prompting its removal and her cancellation. Gossip account @Gosip Danu noted on January 14: "Nggak jadi diundang kemarin kerena banyak komen netize yang ngehate sampai ngetag KPI." The episode instead aired with Venna Melinda, Dinar Candy, and Joice Manurung.
Religious authorities reinforced the marriage's invalidity. Ustaz Derry Sulaiman stated, "Tak ada pernikahan tanpa wali," applicable even to widows per Indonesia's Kompilasi Hukum Islam, urging family involvement. Ustaz Khalid Basalamah highlighted the wali's protective role. Legally, Inara's lawyer Herlina affirmed it cannot be registered under Article 7 of the Kompilasi Hukum Islam without Insanul divorcing or obtaining polygamy permission.
The developments underscore tensions around cancel culture and siri marriages in Indonesian society.
