HV71 has appointed Johan Franzén as its new club director. He succeeds Agne Bengtsson, who served in an acting capacity.
The Swedish hockey club announced the move on July 2. Franzén, 49, previously worked as site manager at Skobes Bil and served nine years as chairman of IK Oskarshamn. He also held board positions in SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan.
HV71 chairman Tommy Fritz praised Franzén's leadership experience in both business and sports organizations. Fritz highlighted his commercial background and network within Swedish hockey as key assets for the role.
Franzén said he plans to focus first on listening and building relationships within the club. The exact start date remains undecided, though a handover period with Bengtsson is scheduled for the autumn.
