South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan appeared in court on fraud charges on 25 May 2026. The case was postponed to 27 August. A day earlier, four critics were expelled from the federation at its congress.
The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court heard arguments from both sides before setting the new date. State prosecutor Moagi Malebati expressed frustration over repeated delays linked to Jordaan’s soccer commitments. He noted that the matter could stretch into 2030 if further postponements continue.
Safa held its ordinary congress in Kempton Park on 24 May 2026. Members voted to expel Gladwyn White, Monde Montshiwa, Orapeleng Setlhare and Emma Hendricks. Vice-president Linda Zwane said the decision followed their decision to approach the courts without exhausting internal processes.
Jordaan has not confirmed whether he will seek a fourth term at the elective congress scheduled for September. The expulsions leave his position largely unchallenged for now.
