Federal judge Ariel Lijo authorized a forensic examination of architect Matías Tabar's cellphone, following his testimony about receiving US$245,000 cash from Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni without invoices for house renovations. Prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita requested the analysis to recover deleted communications involving Adorni and his wife.
In the ongoing illicit enrichment probe against Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni—part of broader investigations into his assets and properties—federal judge Ariel Lijo approved prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita's request for forensic analysis of architect Matías Tabar's phone. This follows Tabar's Monday testimony, where he detailed cash payments for renovations at Adorni's Indio Cuá country club house, including a pool waterfall, grill, and heating.
The analysis targets communications between Tabar, Adorni, and his wife Bettina Angeletti, some of which were reportedly deleted. Videos of the works, showing unfinished construction, have been cited in the case.
The Government denies the payment amount and backs Adorni, with President Javier Milei appearing alongside him at a Casa Rosada meeting. Official sources state Adorni will present documentation in court. Prosecutor Pollicita rejected an immediate arrest request from deputy Marcela Pagano, citing no flight risk, but left other measures open. Adorni has called a Cabinet meeting for Friday.
