He said President Ruto's State of the Nation address failed to tackle the disregard for the rule of law, where state officers are actively involved in by-election campaigns. "The President is silent as state officers engage actively in the ongoing by-election campaigns," Kalonzo stated.
He also claimed Faith Odhiambo, president of the Law Society of Kenya, resigned from Ruto’s Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests due to this issue. Kalonzo accused Ruto of deceiving Kenyans on projects funded by foreign nations. "Ruto deceived the UK Prime Minister who he met in a historical city in Egypt. They agreed that the Europeans will help Kenya build the High Grand Falls Hydroelectric Power Station which will produce over 700 megawatts, now he is bringing it in the form of Private Public Partnership. This is the kind of lies that Kenyans are tired of," Kalonzo revealed.
Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale also criticized the education sector, claiming the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) is not working nationwide. The opposition condemned President Ruto's Personal Assistant, Farouk Kibet, for campaigning for UDA candidate David Ndakwa. They urged Malava residents to support DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako, saying the victory would signal opposition unity and strength.
Kalonzo highlighted the experience of united opposition leaders, asserting they have what it takes to run the country. Attendees included Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, and DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala. Ruto's address, his third in Parliament on November 20, 2025, emphasized plans for education investment, industrial economy, large dams and road infrastructure, and reliable energy.
