The Corruption Eradication Commission named Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby, Regional Secretary Zulkarnain and Ardiles as suspects in an alleged bribery case involving the sale of positions.
The Corruption Eradication Commission conducted a sting operation on June 29, 2026, in Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau, and Jakarta. Ten people were secured, five of whom were taken to the KPK's Red and White Building including Suhardiman Amby's wife, Suci Nitia Edwar.
Suhardiman Amby and Zulkarnain surrendered on June 30, 2026, and were picked up by investigators at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. On July 1, 2026, the KPK named the three as suspects.
According to the KPK, Suhardiman allegedly received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion from Zulkarnain for the regional secretary position in 2025. Zulkarnain had previously given a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport worth Rp700 million in 2021 for the PUPR department head post.
The KPK said Suhardiman became the seventh Kuansing regent hit by a sting operation. Acting Director of Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein said there was an attempt to sell the vehicle to a showroom to erase traces.
