Defenseman Kristoffer Gunnarsson has signed with Norwegian club Vålerenga for the 2026/27 season. The 29-year-old leaves Mora after seven years in HockeyAllsvenskan.
Kristoffer Gunnarsson has completed a move to Vålerenga, marking his first transfer abroad. The Borås native agreed to a one-year contract that covers the upcoming season in Norway.
Gunnarsson spent seven seasons with Mora, appearing in 361 matches and serving as alternate captain for four years. He previously played 110 SHL games for Frölunda and Linköping after developing in the Frölunda junior system.
In Vålerenga he will join fellow Swedish players Henrik Larsson and Markus Modigs, along with Swedish assistant coach Fredrik Glader. Sportchef Morten Ask described Gunnarsson as a solid defensive defenseman with strong routine and experience.
Vålerenga reached the final in 2024 and finished second in the regular season last year but has not won the Norwegian championship since 2009.
