Forward Viktor Johansson has signed a one-year contract with Almtuna in the HockeyAllsvenskan. The 24-year-old moves from Västerås after a strong season in Hockeyettan.
Almtuna announced the signing on Thursday as part of its team building ahead of the upcoming season. Johansson, who was raised in Hedemora, scored 42 points in 26 games for Borlänge before joining Västerås late in the previous campaign. Almtuna sports chief Jonas Almtorp highlighted the player's potential. 'We see a great potential in Viktor,' Almtorp said. 'He has done very well in division one and we believe he can help us as a team and develop himself as a player.' Johansson expressed enthusiasm about the move. 'It feels really fun to get to play in Almtuna next season,' he said. 'I have only heard good things about Almtuna and I am really excited to get started.' Almtuna has also secured loans for goalkeeper Hugo Hävelid from Djurgården and defenseman Nikodemus Wernquist from AIK, along with forward Samuel Salonen from Jokerit.
