Michele Kang's multi-club ownership group Kynisca has partnered with FIFA as the presenting sponsor for the inaugural Women's Champions Cup. The tournament's final phase will occur in London from January 28 to February 1, 2026. This deal aims to boost global visibility for women's club soccer.
FIFA has announced a sponsorship agreement with Kynisca, the multi-club soccer ownership group led by Michele Kang, for the first edition of the Women's Champions Cup. As the presenting partner, Kynisca will integrate its branding and storytelling across key moments of the tournament, particularly during the final phase hosted in London from January 28 to February 1, 2026.
The competition features the champion clubs from each of FIFA's six continental confederations. Semi-finals will take place at Gtech Community Stadium, home of Brentford in the Premier League, while Arsenal's Emirates Stadium will host the third-place playoff and final. This event fills the gap left by the postponement of the 16-team Women's Club World Cup to 2028, with plans for the Champions Cup to be held in the intervening years of a four-year cycle.
FIFA's chief football officer, Jill Ellis, praised the partnership: “The launch of the Fifa Women’s Champions Cup is a powerful step forward for women’s club football globally. Partnering with Kynisca underlines our shared, unwavering commitment to building platforms that showcase the pinnacle of women’s football. Fifa would like to express our gratitude to Michele Kang, a true pioneer of the women’s game, for her support of this game-changing competition.”
Michele Kang echoed the sentiment: “The inaugural Fifa Women’s Champions Cup represents a defining moment for women’s football. Partnering with Fifa on this historic competition reflects Kynisca’s belief in the power, potential and global appeal of the women’s game. We are proud to support a tournament that will set new benchmarks for excellence and ambition.”
Kang, who built her fortune in health technology, launched Kynisca in 2024. The group owns the Washington Spirit in the NWSL, London City Lionesses in the WSL, and OL Lyonnes in France's Première Ligue. As deputy chair of FIFA's committee for women’s club competitions, Kang has committed significant funds to women's soccer, including US$25 million to US Soccer last year and US$30 million in 2024. She aims to own at least one club on each continent.
Broadcast rights include DAZN for most countries worldwide, Sky Sports for the UK and Ireland, CazeTV for Brazil, Morocco’s SNRT, and DAZN for the US semi-finals. This partnership highlights the growing role of specialized investors in commercializing women's soccer, beyond traditional consumer brands.
