Lanvin creative director Peter Copping highlighted the transformative influence of 1920s fashion during his time as designer-in-residence at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He linked the era's liberating styles to modern design practices at the house.
Copping, who joined Lanvin as artistic director in September 2024, spoke with Vogue while in Savannah for the SCAD graduation show. He described the 1920s as a watershed period when corsets were abandoned and silhouettes streamlined, calling it the origin of modern fashion roots, especially through the work of Jeanne Lanvin and Coco Chanel.
