Following an agreement with the opposition, President Lula decided to veto several points of the Freight Provisional Measure to ensure its approval before the deadline.
The federal government reached an agreement with the opposition to veto the use of the tachograph to issue speeding fines. Another veto will apply to the minimum 70% advance payment of the freight value at the time of hiring.
The president will also veto the amnesty for fines applied to truck drivers who participated in highway blockades at the end of 2022. The minimum freight floor value set at R$ 5,000 will be removed from the text.
The MP expires next Thursday, July 16, if not approved by the Senate. The government is monitoring truck driver mobilizations in Santos and Salvador.
