Man arrested after ride-share carjacking and chase in Brasília

A man was arrested in the act by the Federal District Military Police on Sunday night (14/12) after stealing a ride-share car in Ceilândia and fleeing, causing hit-and-runs and collisions. The chase took place on BR-070, ending near Estrutural. The suspect has prior records for vehicle theft.

The Federal District Military Police (PMDF) was alerted after a ride-share driver was approached by a knife-wielding thief in Ceilândia. The robbery happened as the victim stopped to pick up a pregnant passenger accompanied by two children. The crime was reported via Copom, and a Rotam patrol spotted the stolen vehicle heading along BR-070.

During the escape, the suspect ignored police orders to stop. He hit two pedestrians and attempted to strike a third. To evade the teams, the driver collided with six vehicles, even pushing one off the road.

After a tactical pursuit, the PMDF intercepted the vehicle near Estrutural. A preliminary check revealed the perpetrator has prior records for vehicle theft. The incident was forwarded to the 8th Police Station in Estrutural for further proceedings.

There are no reports of serious injuries from the hit-and-runs or collisions, but the event underscores the dangers faced by ride-share drivers in the area. The PMDF stresses the importance of quick reports for swift action against crimes.
