The appeal verdict in the European parliamentary assistants case will be delivered on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, by the Paris Court of Appeal. The ruling will determine whether Marine Le Pen can run for president in 2027.
Marine Le Pen was convicted at first instance on March 31, 2025, to five years of ineligibility with immediate effect, four years in prison including two years firm, and a 100,000 euros fine for misuse of public funds. Prosecutors sought comparable penalties on appeal.
On Monday evening her niece Marion Maréchal posted a message of support on X. She praised Marine Le Pen’s “tenacity” and stated that “whatever the judges decide, nothing will stop you tomorrow”.
Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella also displayed unity at an event in Liévin. The national camp remains mobilized ten months before the presidential vote.
