Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Dr Fred Matiang’i has warned political leaders against funding hooligan groups and condemned violence that has caused deaths of innocent people.
Dr Matiang’i made the remarks during his visit to Keumbu, Gionseri, Bobasi and Nyamokenye in Kisii County. He said the government has enough resources to protect citizens but has failed to stop armed hooligans.
He referred to an attack two weeks earlier in Keumbu that killed Vincent Osiemo also known as Mapinduzi. He announced forming a team of lawyers and technology experts to collect evidence to prosecute those responsible and their political financiers.
Matiang’i also attended Osiemo’s funeral in Gionseri and congratulated Rigathi Gachagua along with the DCP party on their Ol Kalou by-election win. He stressed the need for Kenyan unity ahead of the 2027 general election.
