A new Metroid title called Metroid Ravenous has appeared in a Brazilian ratings submission, hinting at a possible Switch 2 release later this year. The listing was shared on social media and suggests a 2026 production year.
The rating was posted by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security and shared by journalist Necrolipe on X. It lists the United States as the country of origin and gives the game a 12+ rating for violence involving weapons, blood and death plus light sexual content.
The review covered roughly 41 minutes of material provided via an internet link from Nintendo of America. The entry marks 2026 as the year of production, which aligns with Nintendo’s earlier comments about unannounced surprises for the second half of the year.
Metroid Dread, the last side-scrolling entry in the series, was released in 2021 and sold over 3 million copies. Fans have been awaiting a follow-up after Metroid Prime 4’s reported sales performance last year.
