The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced a temporary water supply interruption affecting 14 estates due to a pipeline leak. The shutdown begins at 10pm on Monday, 15 June 2026, and lasts until midday Tuesday.
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company stated that the interruption stems from a leakage on the NCT-Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete transmission pipeline at Gatundu. “This is to inform you of a temporary water supply interruption that will affect several residential and commercial areas in the City,” the company said. “The interruption is due to a leakage on NCT-Kigoro-Gigiri-Kabete transmission pipeline at Gatundu.”
Affected areas include Westlands and its environs, Lavington, Kilimani, Upperhill, parts of Ngong Road, Madaraka, Langata, Kibera, Karen, Uthiru, Kangemi and Kawangware. The outage will also impact regions served by MAVWASCO and Oloolaiser Water Company.
The company indicated that normal supply will resume once repairs on the pipeline are completed. This marks the second such disruption in recent months, following one in March that affected 15 estates.
