Nintendo announced it will increase the price of the Switch 2 console by $50 starting September 1 in the US. The move affects the base model amid rising component costs and follows similar adjustments in other markets.
Nintendo said the new suggested retail price will be $499.99, up from the $449.99 launch price set last June. The company cited changes in market conditions and the global business outlook expected to last over the medium to long term. It added that it understands pricing changes can be challenging for customers and appreciates fan support for its products. Similar increases take effect at different times in other regions, including Japan in May.
