Sweden's Discrimination Ombudsman ruled that a teacher discriminated against a pupil during a lesson on fascism. The teacher used students as examples of A-, B- and C-people.
The class was asked to categorize two pupils with foreign backgrounds and the teacher himself according to ideologies such as fascism, social Darwinism and eugenics.
“The situation was very offensive to the pupil, which the teacher must have realized,” said DO Lars Arrhenius in a press release.
The teacher has since apologized for the lesson plan used in multiple classes. The ombudsman demands that Hässleholms kommun pay 70,000 kronor in compensation for ethnic discrimination.
