A Pennsylvania man was sentenced to 65 years in prison this week for the 2021 murder of his stepfather in New Jersey. Christian Smith, 28, was convicted of first-degree murder in January.
Christian Smith received the sentence from Gloucester County Superior Court Judge William Ziegler. He will be eligible for parole after serving at least 85 percent of the term. Prosecutors said the October 9, 2021, shooting occurred at the family home in Woolwich Township during an argument over Smith's comments about his sister's LGBTQ houseguest.
