Persija Jakarta will face Port FC in Group B of the Piala Presiden 2026 at Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo in Surabaya on Wednesday, 29 July 2026 at 15:30 WIB. The Macan Kemayoran side aims to bounce back after a 0-1 loss to Persebaya Surabaya.
Defender Radovan Pankov affirmed Persija's determination to secure a win. "Of course after we lost in the previous match, our goal is to win. Our goal is to win as many matches as we can," Pankov said.
Coach Shin Tae-yong said the team has analyzed Port FC. "Port FC is the defending champion. So I think they are a good team. We have also analyzed Port FC's game," he said.
Port FC arrives with five straight wins, including a 2-0 victory over PSMS Medan. Persija will prioritize young players while managing playing time.
Pankov scored an own goal in the 63rd minute during the 0-1 loss to Persebaya on 26 July 2026. Shin Tae-yong will give opportunities to young players as in the first match.
