Prabowo meets 1,200 rectors and professors to discuss education

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that the gathering was part of the President's efforts to communicate with various stakeholders about the national situation and global geopolitics, as well as major future plans. "Update on our country's condition as well as geopolitical conditions, and the big plans we must work on ahead. Therefore, the President is conducting a lot of communication with various parties, and today happens to be the schedule to discuss and build communication with rectors and professors from public and private universities," Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace.

Additionally, Prabowo sought input on accelerating the fulfillment of doctoral needs, noting that Indonesia currently lacks around 100,000 doctors. The meeting also addressed improving the quality of educational institutions, including lecturers, facilities, and reducing the operational burden on state universities. "Then also the quality of our educational institutions, our universities, both the lecturers, the facilities, including we are calculating and thinking about how to reduce the operational burden in every state university," he added.

Prasetyo stressed that after achieving food and energy self-sufficiency, the government will prioritize enhancing human resources (HR) toward Golden Indonesia 2045. "Besides pursuing and working hard to achieve food self-sufficiency, energy self-sufficiency, then one of the main foundations is human resources, awakening both now and ahead toward Golden Indonesia 2045," he said. This meeting was part of the President's series of education-related activities that week.
