The Los Angeles Rams acquired reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns on June 1 in exchange for edge rusher Jared Verse and multiple future draft picks.
The deal sends Garrett, who set the NFL single-season sack record with 23.0 sacks in 2025, to a Rams team already featuring 2025 MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford. In return, the Browns receive Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick. The trade became official shortly after 4 p.m. Eastern on June 1, an accounting date that allowed the Browns to spread Garrett's dead cap hit over two seasons.
