The victim was found locked in a bedroom with the couple's young daughter. The case was logged as domestic violence, bodily injury, insult, threat, and contempt.

Military police officers were called around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday (28) to respond to a domestic violence incident in Vila Scarpelli, Santo André. The woman told officers she had been assaulted with a bite to the face and subjected to an attempted strangulation. The couple was taken to the 2nd Police District in Santo André, where the case was filed. The victim later underwent medical exams at the Instituto Médico Legal to assess her injuries.

The retired major was sent to Presídio Militar Romão Gomes in northern São Paulo. No weapons or illegal items were found in the home, the PM reported. The force stated that, in addition to the civil police inquiry, a military police inquiry was opened.
