Cabo José Maria Alexandre da Silva Junior, aged 40, was found dead in his ex-partner's apartment in Boa Viagem, Recife, on Thursday (11/6). The case is under investigation by Pernambuco Civil Police for possible poisoning.
The officer visited the 48-year-old lawyer's apartment after work. Despite a protective measure against him, both consumed alcoholic beverages and an energy drink during the night and morning.
The woman reported suspecting a possible glass swap and replaced them. Hours later, the Cabo showed signs of malaise, with purple lips and foam in the mouth, before dying at the scene.
Military Police teams confirmed the death. Glasses and drink samples were collected for forensic analysis. The ex-partner gave a statement and was released. The case was registered as a death to be clarified by the 3rd Homicide Delegation. So far, no suspects have been confirmed and no crime has been proven.
