Sharon Osbourne has pushed back against accusations that an upcoming AI avatar of her late husband Ozzy Osbourne is a cash grab. She stated on The Osbournes Podcast that she does not need the money and that Ozzy would have supported the project.
The avatar is being developed by tech company Hyperreal. Sharon and son Jack confirmed the plans last month at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Sharon rejected the criticism directly. She said: “I don’t want your fucking money. I don’t need your fucking money. I’m doing very well.” She added that Ozzy had repeatedly asked how long he would be remembered after his death. Jack has described the effort as a way to ensure Ozzy is never forgotten rather than an attempt to pretend he is still alive. He noted that the family discussed the idea with Ozzy before his death in 2025. The family also confirmed a biopic about Sharon and Ozzy is in development with a planned 2028 release. The script is being written by Lee Hall for Sony Pictures and PolyGram.
