Plot Overview

Returning Cast
Ashley Jensen returns as DI Ruth Calder, now settled in Shetland after leaving London. "She’s pretty settled into the police station and her life in Shetland," Jensen said. "She’s unpacked all her boxes and settled into the community – well as much as Ruth Calder ever could."
Alison O'Donnell plays DI Tosh McIntosh, promoted and focusing on meaningful aspects of her life. "At the start of this new series, Tosh has really settled into her role as DI," O'Donnell noted. "Her relationship with Calder is also really blossoming."
Steven Robertson reprises DC Sandy Wilson, whose local knowledge proves vital. Lewis Howden returns as Sgt Billy McCabe, whose history ties into the case. "This is a really strong storyline and it proves especially difficult for Tosh and Billy," said Robertson. Anne Kidd as forensic pathologist Cora McLean, Angus Miller as Donnie, Conor McCarry as PC Alex Grant, and Eubha Akilade as PC Lorna Burns also return.
