The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF) 2026 presents a diverse program with ten concerts at six locations in the Segeberg district. Performances range from jazz to classical, including portrait artist Ksenija Sidorova and readings by Johann von Bülow and Martina Gedeck. The events are complemented by two music festivals in Stocksee and Pronstorf.
The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF) 2026 will feature ten concerts at six locations in the Segeberg district, supplemented by two rural music festivals. The events span from July to August and cover genres from jazz to classical and folk.
In Pronstorf's Kuhstall, pianist Joel Lyssarides performs with his Vision String Quartet on July 13, followed by clarinettist Martin Fröst with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra on August 13 and Trio Time for Three on August 24. Portrait artist Ksenija Sidorova, who will give 18 concerts in Schleswig-Holstein overall, concludes on August 27 with the Goldmund Quartet; the program ranges from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Astor Piazzolla.
In Wahlstedt, Johann von Bülow reads from Kurt Tucholsky's "Schloss Gripsholm" on July 7, accompanied by the Boulanger Trio. In Bad Segeberg, the nine-member Michaelis Consort plays programs from the Düben collection on August 4 in St. Marien, drawing on Swedish court concerts since 1644. In Bad Bramstedt, Martina Gedeck reads from the correspondence between Felix Mendelssohn and Jenny Lind on July 20, accompanied by Sebastian Knauer on piano.
Norderstedt hosts two performances: Sarah Willis with The Sarahbanda on August 1 in the Waldbühne, featuring works from Mozart to Buena Vista Social Club, and the Porter Percussion Duo on August 19 in the Kulturwerk for children aged six and up. In Kaltenkirchen, Lucie Horsch performs with the B’Rock Orchestra on July 11 in the Michaeliskirche, with pieces from Händel to Corelli.
The music festivals take place July 11-12 in Stocksee, with Kizelo Mleko and Klezmer-Balkan folk on Saturday evening, and July 25-26 in Pronstorf, featuring Lodestar Trio for Nordic Folk Night. Tickets are available now at www.shmf.de, by phone from March 13 at 0431/237070.
