Luminescence light show illuminates Hamburg's Michel with Ben Becker

Hamburg's main church St. Michaelis hosts the projection show Luminescence. Ben Becker narrates the church's history in a production running at least until mid-September.

Around 1,100 visitors attended the premiere on Thursday evening. Among the roughly 900 invited guests were actress Mechthild Großmann and singer Ute Lemper.

360-degree projections from 25 projectors envelop the architecture. Michelkantor Magne H. Draagen plays the organ while a twelve-member choir sings.

The show was created after 3D scans of the baroque church. Part of the proceeds go to maintenance of the Michel.
