Sony held its State of Play showcase on June 2, revealing gameplay and release dates for multiple upcoming PlayStation 5 titles. The hour-long presentation featured first-party and third-party games during Summer Game Fest week.
The event opened with gameplay from Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine. Logan fights through a facility with help from Jean Grey, using healing abilities and team-up moves. The game launches on PS5 on September 15. Other highlights included a new trailer for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls from Arc System Works, set for August 6 on PS5 and PC. Rayman Legends Retold was announced for October 1 as a remake of the sidescroller. God of War: Laufey closed the show. The spin-off stars Faye in an afterlife realm with Egyptian gods and new combat mechanics. No release date was given. Until Dawn 2 from Firesprite was also revealed for 2027. Additional announcements covered Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 25, Silent Hill: Townfall on September 24, and Dune: Awakening on PS5 with a single-player mode on September 22.
