Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt said on Fox News that he is not interested in celebrity endorsements, saying he is focused on winning support from local residents.
Pratt, a former MTV reality TV star, made the comments during an appearance on Fox News’ late-night program Gutfeld!.
“I don’t want anybody to endorse me except for the moms and the animal lovers in L.A. — that’s my entire vote,” Pratt said during the segment.
In the same interview, Pratt also said he welcomes criticism from celebrities, arguing that being attacked by high-profile figures is a sign his campaign is gaining attention.
Claims that Pratt has already received donations and public backing from “several celebrities” could not be independently verified from the cited source or other readily available public reporting.
