An El Financiero survey shows the percentage of Mexicans who believe their national team can win the 2026 World Cup rose from 6 to 11 percent in one month.
Mexico leads Group A and advanced to the round of 16, securing a potential round of 16 match at Estadio Azteca. The national telephone survey conducted between June 16 and 19 shows Argentina and France top Mexican fans' preferences to win the title on July 19.
Mexico ranks third with 11 percent, followed by Germany with 8 percent and Brazil with 7 percent. Confidence in the Mexican national team rose from 35 to 39 percent in the same period.
Guillermo Ochoa is the favorite player among respondents with 15 percent of mentions, ahead of Raúl Jiménez. The survey also revealed that half the population has not watched any tournament match.
