The match at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg offered Sweden's young talents a chance to shine against the world's best team, Spain. Despite needing at least five goals to overturn the deficit from the first leg, the coach fielded future stars like 18-year-old Felicia Schröder and Smilla Holmberg.
Ahead of the return, Holmberg was optimistic: "There is a possibility", said the Hammarby talent. Schröder, who started, was speechless but satisfied afterward: "Really fun to get this trust".
Spain won 1–0 with Alexia Putellas scoring in the second half, securing their final spot. Sweden could not reverse the 0–4 deficit from the first match.
After the final whistle, as the team thanked fans, a pitch invader entered the field. The young boy, hooded and holding a phone, approached the players but was swiftly caught by security chief Lars From. "It was a little boy who slipped between the guards... probably wanted a selfie or something. More go and glad", From told SVT Sport.
Hanna Lundkvist felt safe: "Lucky that security personnel were on site", while Anna Sandberg was shocked. No threatening situation arose, and the boy was handed over to police.
