Tahmeed Express confirmed that six people died in a crash involving one of its buses shortly after midnight on Tuesday in the Kapiti area of Konza.
The bus, registered KDL 079S and carrying 50 passengers, was hit after two trucks collided on the Mombasa-Nairobi highway. One truck struck the bus following an overtaking manoeuvre.
The company stated that the dead included its driver and the driver of a truck. Several passengers suffered minor injuries. Most were treated and discharged, while five others were observed before continuing their journey on an 8 a.m. service.
Tahmeed said investigations are ongoing and declined to comment further on the cause. The crash added to recent deadly incidents on Kenyan highways, including one three days earlier at Mau Summit.
