Rays shortstop Taylor Walls delivered a bases-clearing triple to help Tampa Bay defeat Miami 6-3 on Sunday at Tropicana Field. The win improved the Rays to 30-15 overall and 16-5 at home this season.
Walls, batting ninth, broke a 2-1 tie in the fourth inning with a two-out drive into the right-center gap off Marlins starter Eury Pérez. The hit scored three runs and gave the Rays a lead they never relinquished. Manager Kevin Cash praised the timing of the production from the bottom of the order.
