The Los Angeles Angels scored 14 runs and defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 14-3 on Saturday at Tropicana Field. Wade Meckler hit the first grand slam of his career in the first inning.
The Angels jumped ahead early when Meckler connected on a cutter from Rays starter Drew Rasmussen. The blast traveled a projected 397 feet and scored three runners after Mike Trout singled and two walks loaded the bases. Meckler also scored later in the game after a single and stolen base.
