Three people sustained minor injuries when a private van crashed into a concrete barrier along the Balacbac Circumferential Road in Baguio City on Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on July 19 during heavy rains. The white Kia van was carrying 14 passengers, including eight adults and six minors, who had attended activities at the Baguio Cathedral and were heading to Nueva Ecija.
According to the Baguio City Police Office, the driver failed to shift to a lower gear while descending the road. The vehicle could not be stopped with the brakes because of its weight and the rain-slicked surface.
Police officers and emergency responders assisted the victims at the scene. The injured declined further medical evaluation at a hospital, and their identities have not been released.
