The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, issued a request for expressions of interest (EOI) on November 18, 2025, for the supply of electric vehicle (EV) chargers and accessories. The EOI, numbered EOIUNECA23970, will close on December 3, 2025.
UNECA is inviting qualified contractors with valid licenses and manufacturer authorizations to bid for 24 units of EV chargers and related accessories. The goal is to establish a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with a competent vendor for ongoing supply. The initial contract will last one year, with possible annual extensions up to five years based on performance. Selected vendors will receive a contract as per the bidding documents.
Interested firms must be fully registered with the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) at www.ungm.org to participate. No documents are required at this stage; expressions of interest should be submitted via the "Vendor Response" link. Queries can be directed to Tesfaneh Bezabih or Aster Zewede at tesfaneh.gebre@un.org or zewdea@un.org.
This procurement falls under facility management, with UNSPSC code 25175000 for electric vehicle charging systems. It supports Ethiopia as the beneficiary country and aligns with UN procurement rules, including restrictions under ST/SGB/2006/15 on employing former UN personnel involved in procurement. Vendors must meet eligibility criteria, such as not being on sanctions lists or under investigation for unethical practices.
