Uppsala Municipality has selected Peab and JM as anchor actors for the development of Uppsala Södra. The two companies will play a central role around the planned railway station.
Uppsala Municipality is taking the next step in developing Uppsala Södra by tying Peab and JM to the project. The new district is planned with approximately 3 000 homes along with schools, services and workplaces. The anchor actors will contribute at least around 1 000 homes. Erik Pelling, chair of the municipal board, stressed that the model brings strong and long-term partners early in the process. Project leader Sofie Leima highlighted that the collaboration fits the project's conditions and supports quality and pace. The development is linked to a new railway station scheduled to open in 2034. The agreements form part of the Fyrspårsavtalet between the municipality, the region and the state with the target year 2035. Per Johansson from JM and Stefan Allansson from Peab both expressed satisfaction at being able to contribute their expertise early.
