Vote for sh-athletes of the year 2025 restarts after manipulation

The vote for Schleswig-Holstein's female and male athletes of the year 2025 restarts after manipulation attempts in December. Online voting opens on March 23 using a new NDR tool. The gala is set for April 13 in Neumünster.

The Landessportverband (LSV) and the Association of Schleswig-Holstein Sports Journalists (VSHS) are restarting the vote for female and male athletes of the year 2025. The original online voting in December was halted and annulled due to irregularities, with the planned gala in Neumünster's Holstenhallen canceled. Late-night votes arrived suspiciously – up to 40 to 50 per minute – for one team nominee, totaling a mid-four-digit number of irregular votes, as stated by LSV and NDR. The new poll runs from March 23 at noon to April 7 at noon on the „#NDRfragt“ platform. Participants must be at least 16 years old and register with name and email. Nominated women include basketball player Elisa Mevius (Rendsburg), para-swimmer Tanja Scholz (Elmshorn/Neumünster), rower Greta Amort (Lübeck), triathlete Julia Bröcker (Bad Oldesloe), and dressage rider Rose Oatley (Lütjensee). Men nominees are THW Kiel youngster Rasmus Ankermann, sailor Ole Schweckendiek (Kiel), rower Miklas Scheer (Kiel), para-judo athlete Lennart Sass (Rendsburg), and boxer Freddy Kiwirr (Flensburg). Team contenders are THW Kiel, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, badminton vice-champions Blau-Weiß Wittorf, sailing duo Kjell Haschen/Iven Fromm (Lübeck/Kiel), and TSB Flensburg's Fördenixen synchronized swimmers. The award ceremony takes place on April 13 from 6 pm in Neumünster's Holstenhallen.
